Powell-House Hindi Play (Junior School) “B A R A T”             The story and script of “Barat” were written by Ms. Archana Tripathi. A rich landlord who provided his daughter with the best education he could afford, permits her to work in the corporate world, but is firm in his mind that she must marry a man of his choice, in keeping with his family status in society. Aware of her father’s mindset, she plots to prevent the groom’s party from reaching the wedding venue. She is able to engineer the situation to her advantage and convince her father to allow her to marry a man of her own choice, without having to lose face in society. Ultimately her father has a change of heart and is convinced to accept her choice.
